CAREERS IN PUBLIC HEALTH

Beginning relationships with future students on campus

Careers in Public Health (CiPH) started in 2017 and is held in the last week of July. We've just finished our third program, which received our most participants to date (52) and we've already begun planning for CiPH 2020.

Careers in Public Health is a three-day summer program offering participants a hands-on look at different careers in public health directly from professionals who practice it. All participants in the CIPH program receive a $5000 scholarship toward a Master's Degree program at the Loma Linda University School of Public Health.

  • Conducting surveys of local communities looking at infrastructure and demographics. Discuss possible health improvements for those communities with professionals.

  • Learning how government policies can take research findings from the lab to tangible changes that impact the health of individuals, communities, and systems.

  • Debating current issues in health, policies and the environment.

Through CIPH, participants are not only exposed to the school of public health but everything else that Loma Linda University has to offer; eating at the cafeteria, access to the Drayson Center Fitness facility and sometimes staying in the dorms on campus.
