BIOGRAPHY
When Sally Millon interviewed as a potential candidate for the Nutrition and Dietetics program, her bright spirit was evident. She shared her dual passions for helping others learn to live healthfully and get to know Christ. As a student, Sally continued to share her energy and love with classmates and the community.
After determining she wanted a career in nutrition, Sally left Hawaii for La Sierra University. While taking prerequisite courses, she worked as a Student Academic Peer Guide, an Anatomy and Physiology Lab Teacher’s Assistant, and as a Reader for Microbiology courses. She served as a short-term medical missionary with a team from La Sierra at the Medical Mission in Pagudpud Adventist Wellness Center in the Phillipines.
Volunteering is a part of Sally’s life. She assisted at the AMEN Free Health Clinic and has been active with Loma Linda University’s Praxis Ministry. She has held leadership positions with Nexus Ministry, Fusion Block Party Ministries, and Loma Linda University School of Allied Health Professions Student Association.
It is not what Sally does, but how Sally is that led to her nomination for the 2021 Rising Star of the Nutrition and Dietetics department. As a person who lives to serve God, Sally has an infectious energy. She cannot help sharing the love with others that she has found by serving the Lord. Sally will complete the Master's of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics in June 2021.
The Nutrition and Dietetics department is honored to present the 2021 Rising Star Award to Sally Millon.
