BIOGRAPHY
Lam Bui felt a burgeoning desire to become a healthcare member following a family member’s health scare. He had halready worked as hospital volunteer, comforting patients during times of pain and stress. Though it was rewarding, he felt an even stronger desire to contribute to the diagnostic process. After earning a Bachelor's of Science in Biotechnology, Lam wanted to apply what he had learned. This led him to pursue a medical career behind the scenes, supporting the clinicians who provided direct patient care. His journey brought him to the Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) program at Loma Linda University. Once admitted, Lam excelled academically and demonstrated leadership potential among his classmates. During his senior year, Lam took on the job of student lab assistant. He prepped labs for the junior class students under the supervision of the CLS program faculty. Lam completed the Loma Linda University Clinical Laboratory Science program and graduated magna cum laude in 2018. After passing his certification examination and obtaining his professional license, he was hired at the Loma Linda University Medical Center. In addition to his primary duties, he has served as a preceptor for senior CLS students. In this role, he was once named “the factor that contributed most to the learning experience” for the training he provided in automated chemistry. He has also returned to the CLS program as an assistant lab instructor, mentoring and providing guidance to junior students.
